About Me

Hello!  I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over two decades of experience providing individual, group and couples psychotherapy.  I have worked with individuals in early adulthood through later life.  I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology and English from The College of William and Mary. My Masters degree and PhD were earned at the American University.

I am a licensed Psychologist in Washington, DC (PSY1001630).  Additionally I hold a Psypact license and therefore can provide teletherapy services to clients located in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming

My Philosophy

I work collaboratively with my clients to honor who they are, help make sense of their emotional responses to everyday experiences, and guide them to become more authentic in their relationships.  My approach is nonjudgmental, reflective and oftentimes playful.  During our sessions, I help clients make connections between current problems and past struggles.  Understanding these patterns builds self-awareness and helps create more adaptive ways of relating to the world.

I have been trained in Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Existential, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and draw on these approaches to best address my client’s concerns, goals and disposition.  I specialize in working with people who are struggling with life transitions, including changes in roles or identity, and shifts in relationships.  These moments in one’s life frequently result in a mix of anxiety and depression, but can be crucial times for self-reflection and growth.
